Who Can Benefit from the Work
Ash works with individual clients seeking support for a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma healing, grief and loss, chronic illness, climate anxiety and environmental grief, creative growth, life transitions, body image, spiritual development, pregnancy, birth, and parenting, healthy attachment in relationships, boundaries and empowerment, and other interpersonal themes. Scope of Practice & Limitations
As a psychologically oriented somatic therapist, I work at the intersections of sensation, movement, emotion, thought, imagination, and behavior. I approach these dimensions of self and society through the sensibilities of the arts, humanities, and anatomical and life sciences.
In some cases this work cannot be substituted for that of other professional specialties, including licensed mental health counseling or clinical social work; massage therapy, physical therapy, or other forms of hands-on structural manipulation; physical medicine; or psychiatry.
If you are in need of medical or psychological diagnoses and treatment, body work, case management for complex diagnoses and/or life circumstances, I will refer you towards more appropriate sources of care. I am happy to work as an experiential therapist in complement and conjunction with clients’ primary care providers in the case of an active eating disorder, and many other mental health diagnoses.
